It was demonstrated that PLCβ1, through interaction with the Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor Type N2 (PTPRN2) protein, regulates cell migration in breast cancer cells by stimulating a decrease in plasma membrane levels of Phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PtdIns(4,5)P2), an established PLCβ1 substrate which is known to control actin dynamics and cell migration [28]. The gene discussed is PTPRN2; the disease is breast cancer.
