Of the multitude of proteins involved in this process, those found in mosquitoes have been recently reviewed by Whiten et al. (2017) and include only ferritin light chain 1 (LCH1), ferritin heavy chain (HCH), heme oxygenase, transferrin (Tf), Natural Resistance-Associated Macrophage Protein (NRAMP) (Duchemin and Paradkar 2017), iron regulatory protein1 (IRP1), the putative iron transporters, ZnT7, ZIP13, and ZIP11 (Tsujimoto et al. 2018), and dyspepsia (Tsujimoto et al. 2021). This evidence concerns the gene TF and dyspepsia.
