One diterpene that was approved for human use for the treatment of actinic keratosis, ingenol-3-angelate (I3A) (Picato®), from Euphorbia peplus demonstrated great antineoplastic potential evaluated in clinical trials for the effective treatment of basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma through the modulation of PKC signaling (105–109). The gene discussed is PRRT2; the disease is basal cell carcinoma.
