TNF and COVID-19: The plasma of newly diagnosed COVID-19 patients contains different inflammatory cytokines such as interleukins IL-1β, IL-1RA, IL-7, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) [7] as well as inflammatory markers that are higher in severe COVID-19 patients rather than non-severe patients [30].
