NPPB and diabetes mellitus: Patients in the low NT-proBNP group were significantly younger with a lower prevalence of hypertension (HTN), coronary artery disease (CAD), diabetes mellitus, and kidney disease, as well as lower blood urea (BUN), procalcitonin (PCT), creatinine, white blood cell (WBC) and a lower level of troponin than those in the medium and high NT-proBNP groups (P < 0.0001).
