As in the case-control study, each of the 4 healthy lifestyle characteristics was strongly associated with protection from CAD (healthy diet: HR, 0.59 [95% CI, 0.55-0.64]; regular exercise: HR, 0.77 [95% CI, 0.72-0.84]; not smoking: HR, 0.64 [95% CI, 0.60-0.68]; and absence of obesity: HR, 0.54 [95% CI, 0.50-0.58]) (eTable 5 in the Supplement), and we did not observe a significant interaction between FH carrier status and lifestyle score (HR, 0.8 [95% CI, 0.5-1.1]; P = .12 for interaction). This evidence concerns the gene FH and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
