In this study, we determined the expression of AML-related genes that are targeted by novel therapies in AML such as BCL2 and BRD4, as well as functionally related genes and associated epigenetic modulators (TET2, EZH2, ASXL1, MYC) in a series of patients with AML at diagnosis and at different points during follow-up and evaluated whether their expression was predictive of complete remission after induction and/or patient outcome. The gene discussed is BCL2; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
