According to Morais et al. (2021), patients with M. leprae/SARS-CoV-2 co-infection showed increased IL-6 gene expression; moreover, the median disability grade was higher for M. leprae/SARS-CoV-2-co-infected patients than for patients with leprosy alone, even more than 30 days after the onset of COVID-19. Here, IL6 is linked to COVID-19.
