Zhu et al. (2017) reported that DAAM2 accelerated glioma formation by facilitating ubiquitination and degradation of Von Hippel-Landau (VHL) protein. In addition, DAAM2 promoted the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma by enhancing hypoxia-inducible factor 1α (HIF-1α) expression (Fang et al., 2020). It has been widely proven that hypoxia is tightly associated with antitumor immunity in most cancer types (Abou Khouzam et al., 2020; Fu et al., 2021). Here, DAAM2 is linked to central nervous system cancer.
