When ANXA2 is silenced, the ability of proliferation, invasion, and migration of gastric cancer cells is weakened (Xie et al., 2019), but when it is overexpressed, it can promote the migration, invasion, and metastasis of esophageal cancer cells in vitro and in vivo by activating the MYC-HIF1a-VEGF cascade pathway (Ma et al., 2018). The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is gastric cancer.
