Both OS tumor tissue samples and cell lines exhibited marked Tspan9 upregulation, and the overexpression of this gene was associated with enhanced proliferation, EMT induction, and metastasis in OS cells through a mechanism whereby Tspan9 interacts with integrin β1 to augment downstream integrin-mediated FAK-Ras-ERK1/2 signaling.
