Although NSUN2 expression was not changed in endometrial carcinoma, and the upregulation of NSUN2 in ovarian cancer may be an incidental event as cell proliferation, cell cycle distribution, and cell migration were not affected upon NSUN2 depletion, we demonstrated a novel NSUN2-dependent m5C-KRT13-YBX1 oncogenic regulatory pathway in cervical cancer, displaying the diversity and complexity of gynecological cancers. This evidence concerns the gene YBX1 and female reproductive organ cancer.
