Germline RUNX1 mutation is associated with family inherited platelet disease and a high risk of transformation to MDS/AML [2, 9], and germline GATA2, ANKRD26, and ETV6 mutations are reported to be related to genetically heritable haematological malignancies (HMs) [10–12]. The gene discussed is RUNX1; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
