The virus shares 79.5% genome identity with SARS-CoV-1 and also uses angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) as a cell entry receptor.1–5 Typical clinical symptoms of COVID-19 patients include fever, fatigue, dry cough, and pneumonia, whereas around 20% of the severe cases may die of multi-organ failure.6–9. Here, ACE2 is linked to susceptibility to pneumonia measurement.
