Furthermore, there was a positive correlation observed between CPT1A gene expression in peripheral blood CD14+ monocytes and total modified Sharp/van der Heijde score (r = 0.787, P = 0.001) (Figure 2E) and erosion subscore (r = 0.719, P = 0.001) (Figure 2F), suggesting that high CPT1A expression in circulating osteoclast precursors may be associated with bone erosion in RA.
