HAVCR2 and acute myeloid leukemia: Alongside, high expression levels of the surface molecules mentioned such as PD1/PD-L1 and TIM3 are associated with worse prognosis in AML, thus suggesting potential relevance for therapeutic interventions, with first immune checkpoint inhibition trials being underway (76) although – as alluded to above –investigations of the expression of these markers still produces conflicting results (69).
