Consistent with the results from CUMS mice, MBP and PSD95 protein levels were significantly decreased in patients with MDD compared with control individuals (n = 15, *P < 0.05; Figure 9, A–D), whereas EphA4 levels were significantly higher in MDD samples compared with levels in controls (n = 15, *P < 0.05; Figure 9, E and F). This evidence concerns the gene MBP and major depressive disorder.
