TNF and Optic neuropathy: The drugs responsible for optic neuropathy include antimicrobial agents (linezolid, ciprofloxacin, cimetidine, and chloramphenicol), antituberculotic drugs (isoniazid and ethambutol), halogenated hydroquinolones, benzofuran derivatives (amiodarone), antiepileptic agents (vigabatrin), cGMP-specific phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (sildenafil, tadalafil, and vardenafil), methotrexate, cisplatin, carboplatin, 5-fluorouracil, vincristine, cyclosporine, tamoxifen, and disulfiram, as well as tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) antagonists (etanercept, infliximab, and adalimumab) [54,121,122].
