Recently, Min et al. [10] found that the acetylation of Tau at K174 (ac-K174) is the critical pathological change affecting Tau homeostasis and toxicity in early AD brain by means of in vitro and in vivo study of tau-acetylation using different mutations mimicking the acetylated (K174Q mutant) and the de-acetyl mimicking state (K174R mutant) [10].
