ALB and Hypoalbuminemia: We compared the two patient subpopulations: non-HAD patients but with hypoalbuminemia (n = 1542), were older (78.2 vs. 70.7yr, p < 0.001), had higher CCI (5 vs. 4, p < 0.001), longer hospital LOS (5 vs. 3 days, p < 0.001), greater percentage of prolonged LOS (30.2% vs. 14.1%, p < 0.001), and a higher 1 yr re-admission rate (49.9% vs. 39.75%, p < 0.001) than non-HAD patients with normal serum albumin (n = 6216).
