In the present study, histidine supplementation in HCC cells reduced the expression of tumor markers related to glycolysis (GLUT1 and HK2), inflammation (pSTAT3), angiogenesis (VEGFB and VEGFC), stem cells (CD133), metastasis (Snail/slug), and cell migration. The gene discussed is SLC2A1; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
