Ceritinib was approved by the FDA in 2014 based on the results of ASCEND-1 [26] and ASCEND-2 [27] for the treatment of NSCLC patients with ALK-rearrangement NSCLC who have progressed during treatment with crizotinib or who cannot tolerate crizotinib. Here, ALK is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
