Interleukin-17A (IL-17A [also named IL-17]), a member of the IL-17 family that has emerged as a crucial proinflammatory cytokine, is typically highly expressed in the liver after high-fat-diet (HFD) feeding and promotes the progression of NASH and liver fibrosis (2, –, 5). Here, IL17A is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
