Several in vitro studies have shown that numerous HDAC or DNMT inhibitors, and unique immunomodulators, can neutralize proinflammatory cytokines (anti‐IL2 and anti‐TNF‐a) and restore FOXP3 expression and suppressive activity of Treg cells, suggesting that they may be a useful strategy for the treatment of autoimmune diseases.32 The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is autoimmune disease.
