BCL2 and B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia: Interestingly, targeted agents currently used in the treatment of patients with CLL (i.e., BTK inhibitors, PI3K inhibitors, and the Bcl-2 inhibitor venetoclax) have shown not only to act against malignant B cells but also to exert at some degree an immunomodulatory activity through mechanisms that are not necessarily connected to their on-target effects.
