Studies have demonstrated that SARS-CoV-2 infection can induce the development of rare and uncommon autoantibodies, including autoantibodies directed against receptors (angiotensin II AT1 receptor, angiotensin [1–7] MAS) that regulate the renin–aldosterone–angiotensin (RAS) system, also found in chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME) [91]. The gene discussed is REN; the disease is myalgic encephalomeyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome.
