Furthermore, after controlling for age, sex, smoking status, BMI, SBP, and lifestyle intervention, the multivariable Cox analysis showed that one SD increase in the plasma insulin AUC still significantly associated with the risk of cancer occurrence (aHR = 1.39, 95% CI 1.05–1.84, P = 0.02), as was the one SD increase in the Matsuda insulin resistance index (aHR = 1.41, 95% CI 1.06–1.87, P = 0.02) (Table 4).
