As shown in Figures 1A,B, the protein levels of Piezo1, CaM, and Src were significantly greater in the LAAs of AF patients than the SR controls (0.46 ± 0.10 vs. 1.32 ± 0.11, p < 0.01; 0.60 ± 0.12 vs. 1.13 ± 0.12, p < 0.01; 0.63 ± 0.12 vs. 1.11 ± 0.09, p < 0.01; for Piezo1, CaM and Src, respectively), while Cav1.2 protein levels were lower in the LAAs of AF patients than the SR controls (0.97 ± 0.08 vs. 0.57 ± 0.10, p < 0.01; Figure 1A). This evidence concerns the gene PIEZO1 and atrial fibrillation.
