In the pancreatic cancer tissue, the tumor-associated fibroblast (TAF) continuously produces IGF-1, which stimulates pancreatic islet beta cells to proliferate and secrete more insulin through a bidirectional microcirculation system in the pancreas (Dheen et al., 1996; Yang et al., 2002; Dybala et al., 2020).
