Since resistance to exonuclease RNase R is also a gold standard for testing whether an RNA transcript is circular (Jeck and Sharpless, 2014), we treated the cDNA from two gastric cancer cell lines, AGS and MKN-7, with RNase R. RT-qPCR results showed that the levels of ATF6 mRNA, which is the host mRNA of circ0007360, but not circ0007360, were reduced upon RNase R challenge (Figure 1C). Here, ATF6 is linked to gastric cancer.
