Novel targeted regimens are evolving in diseases mostly affecting adults, such as chronic lymphocytic laeukemia (CLL), in which combinations of targeted biologic therapies (e.g., a Bruton's tyrosine kinase [BTK]-inhibitor and a monoclonal antibody; or a B-cell lymphoma 2 [BCL2]-inhibitor and a monoclonal antibody) can replace traditional chemotherapy (14). This evidence concerns the gene BTK and B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
