HMGA2 and cancer: Studies have shown that lncRNAs are one of the important factors affecting cancer development and progression (10), and they can regulate the biological behavior of cancer cells in several ways, such as lncRNA HOTAIR influencing cell growth, migration, invasion, and apoptosis via the miR-20a-5p/HMGA2 axis in breast cancer (11), upregulated LINC01234 promoting NSCLC cell metastasis by activating VAV3 and repressing BTG2 expression (12), etc. Therefore, lncRNAs are of great clinical importance as biomarkers of tumor progression.
