This is similar to reports from Tanzania (Matee et al., 2000), Ghana (Kwamin et al., 2013), Cameroon (Ambe et al., 2020), and India (Lattif et al., 2004; Anwar et al., 2012), where oral candidiasis is associated with CD4+ T-cell counts <200 cells/μl. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and oral candidiasis.
