AGT and hypertensive disorder: The sympathetic nervous system (SNS) plays a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of hypertension in human and several animal models, including ANG II-induced hypertension, obesity-related hypertension, deoxycorticosterone acetate/aldosterone salt-sensitive hypertension, and spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHRs; Shi et al., 2010a; Xue et al., 2011; Cardinale et al., 2012; Chao et al., 2013; Dange et al., 2015; Hall et al., 2015; Basting and Lazartigues, 2017).
