Among the imaging and serum examinations, the serum inflammatory marker CRP (cut-off value of 10 mg/L) and nutrition marker Albumin (cut-off value of 4.0 g/dL) showed the highest sensitivity for the diagnosis of infectious RHD (1.00 for both; specificity of 0.87 and 0.73, respectively), indicating that they were useful for screening infection in RHD patient. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and rheumatic heart disease.
