Transcriptomic analysis of human colon tumors with high fusobacterial RNA levels revealed the Fusobacterium‐induced genes, PTGS2 (COX‐2), IL1β, IL6, IL8, and TNF (TNF‐α), indicating an NF‐κB‐driven proinflammatory response associated with colorectal carcinogenesis.45 Here, PTGS2 is linked to colonic neoplasm.
