Knockout of the ADHD-associated (but ubiquitously expressed) gene, Git1, results in an ADHD phenotype in mice that exhibits enhanced theta rhythms.42 ADHD patients exhibit increased power of theta rhythm.43,44 Investigation of the potential link between high-power theta rhythm, TRN dysfunction and ADHD phenotype in TRN-related disease is warranted. This evidence concerns the gene TNPO1 and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder.
