The activated PKC isoform protein plays a vital role in many important human diseases, including diabetes (PKC-β) (12), cancer (PKC-ε) (13), autoimmune diseases (PKC-θ) (14), Parkinson (PKC-δ) (15, 16) etc. PKC-α, PKC-β, PKC-ε, and PKC-δ are among the most studied molecules in CVD, participate in various CVD, such as atherosclerosis, hypertension, atrial fibrillation, and cardiac hypertrophy (17–22). The gene discussed is PRKCD; the disease is atherosclerosis.
