Interestingly, literature-based pathway analysis also showed that PPARs (PPARA, PPARD, and PPARG), as well as APOA1, were downstream targets of two drugs (fenofibrate and gemfibrozil) that have the potential to be used in the treatment of NAFLD [21, 22], as shown in Figure 1.
