IFNG and type 1 diabetes mellitus: Although the underlying mechanisms of honeymoon phase of type 1 diabetes are unclear, some clinical studies have indicated that the lower level of serum IFN-γ was associated with the remission of type 1 diabetes (48–50), suggesting that the sorafenib may be used to maintain and extend the honeymoon phase by reducing the accumulation of IFN-γ producing Th1 cells in the pancreas.
