It is reported that Tan IIA could effectively delay the progression of AD in rats through blocking the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and matrix metallopeptidase 2 (MMP-2) protein and also improve memory function and learning ability of rats with AD via reducing the generation of ROS contributed to oxidative stress (Zhi et al., 2009; Jiang et al., 2014; Tang et al., 2017). The gene discussed is MMP2; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
