Here, we report for the first time that CCL5 secreted by CRC tumor buds at the invasive front can recruit surrounding fibroblasts through the CCR5-solute carrier family 25 member 24 (SLC25A24) pathway, and further promote CRC progression via fibroblast-mediated increases in angiogenesis and collagen synthesis. The gene discussed is CCR5; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
