It was shown that genes of modules related to the above three subcutaneous fat were mainly enriched in pathways related to fat metabolism (such as “PPAR signaling pathway,” “Fatty acid metabolism,” “PI3K-Akt signaling pathway,” and “Hedgehog signaling pathway”), disease (such as “Dilated cardiomyopathy,” “AGE−RAGE signaling pathway in diabetic complications,” and “Proteoglycans in cancer”) and cell communication (such as “Calcium signaling pathway,” “Focal adhesion,” and “ECM-receptor interaction”) (Figures 5B–D). This evidence concerns the gene PPARA and dilated cardiomyopathy.
