To confirm the role of astrocyte ADORA2A in cerebral small vessel disease, we established a model of CCH-induced white matter injury and found that chronic hypoxia caused an increase in GFAP expression in the astrocytes and a significant decrease in the MBP absorbance in deep white matter tissue, such as the corpus callosum, internal capsule, and optic tract. This evidence concerns the gene MBP and cerebral small vessel disease.
