GFAP and cerebral small vessel disease: To confirm the role of astrocyte ADORA2A in cerebral small vessel disease, we established a model of CCH-induced white matter injury and found that chronic hypoxia caused an increase in GFAP expression in the astrocytes and a significant decrease in the MBP absorbance in deep white matter tissue, such as the corpus callosum, internal capsule, and optic tract.
