Among genes involved in the regulation of lipid biosynthetic process, APOC1, APOE, SCAP, SREBF1, and LDLR, which played a vital role in lipid transportation and metabolism, were significantly downregulated in PCOS patients (Figure 2A); some of these genes were also enriched in fatty acid biosynthetic process. The gene discussed is LDLR; the disease is polycystic ovary syndrome.
