Its syntenic region on human Chr15 (82.5-90.8 Mb) is a hotspot for human pyschiatric diseases, containing 30 SNPs and 14 genes (ACAN, ADAMTSL3, ALPK3, CPEB1, FES, FURIN, LINC00933, MIR9-3HG, MRPL46, NMB, POLG-DT, SEC11A, ZNF592, and ZSCAN2) associated with generalized anxiety disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, attentions deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and unipolar depression, smoking behavior, etc. These results are reported in 21 publications (Supplementary Table S5). This evidence concerns the gene CPEB1 and schizophrenia.
