Intriguingly, among these dysregulated RBPs, we noticed that RBFOX1, a neuron-specific splicing factor involved in neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders [26, 33], was the most significantly downregulated RBP in GBM in our study (Fig. 3G and Additional file 4: Fig. S10B) and in the GEPIA database. The gene discussed is RBFOX1; the disease is glioblastoma.
