ERBB2 and breast cancer: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), defined as lack of expression of estrogen receptor α (ERα), progesterone receptor (PR) and human epidermal growth receptor 2 (HER2) / erb-b2 receptor tyrosine kinase 2 (ERBB2), which does not benefit from routine targeted therapies and is associated with poor outcome [1, 2], is the most aggressive subtype of breast cancer.
