CRP and COVID-19: A study in China also reported high levels of CRP and D-dimer among patients with cancer with severe to critical COVID-19.18 Another study in Tehran reported an association between high CRP plasma levels and high neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio with severe COVID-19 infection.19 These abnormal laboratory findings may be attributed to the overproduction of inflammatory cytokines cytokine storm in severe COVID-19 infection.20
