P2RY12 and atrial fibrillation: The RE-DUAL PCI, PIONEER AF-PCI and ENTRUST-AF PCI trials demonstrated that dual therapy with a NOAC (dabigatran, rivaroxaban and apixaban, respectively) plus a P2Y12 inhibitor, thus omitting aspirin, resulted in reduced bleeding compared to triple therapy with a VKA, without an apparent trade-off for ischaemic events [19–22].
