As a result of miRNA-223 inhibition, mRNA expression levels of NLRP3 inflammasome and pro-inflammatory chemokines CXCL10, CXCL2, and IL-1ß were increased, suggesting a contribution of miR-223-3p in vivo to limit excessive lung inflammation induced by SARS-CoV infection. Here, CXCL10 is linked to severe acute respiratory syndrome.
